Our Family

Here is a family photo from our summer vacation to Hayward, Wisconsin. We rented a house on the lake and spent a week together, all 8 kids and two adults. Crazy, I know. It took a lot on my part to get this shot...which is why I probably look seriously frazzled, my hair looks horrible, and I think my shirt is falling off. Oh well! Enjoy!

Just wanted to add this gorgeous baby to my blog. Is she not just adorable???? Its hard to believe that she is 6 weeks old! And that I actually got to get a great picture of her. A lot of photographers shy away from baby's after they pass 2 weeks until they are about 4 months old. That period of time tends to be awkward for baby's and they tend to produce stiff poses that aren't the cute snuggly poses people desire out of baby photographs. I have seen other photographers swaddle so I thought what the heck! This is Amina swaddled at Monty's Blue Plate Diner where her mama Jenny and I went for breakfast. Who says you need a big studio to get great baby pictures?!!!!

Smoochy newborn parts....

There is nothing like a fresh newborn! It seems like it is taking me forever to edit these photos. For the most part because I am a perfectionist and I want them to look just perfect! Not that the subject isn't perfect already :)

The Love of a Blankie

When I was a little girl I had a blankie.....I called in my "stankie".....probably because it smelled really bad (but not to me!). Anyhow, oh how I loved that blankie. It went everywhere with me. Once my mom washed it because, well, it smelled bad. Needless to say, I threw the biggest tantrum ever because my stankie lost its "stank". That blankie had holes in it, turned grey (was white originally), collected leaves, but I didn't care. It was mine, all mine.

On yesterday's photo shoot I discovered a little girl who loved her blankie too! Imperfections and all. What a treat. Long live blankies!!!!!!

Jill I really enjoyed speding time with your family this afternoon! Megan was quite a treat and has such a fun personality :) I did a quick edit of a couple of pictures of her, more to come later......

I'm Late, I'm Late....for a very important DATE!

OMG.....did I type that right?  Does that say DATE up there in big bold letters????  Yes, party people, that is correct.  The dh and I are actually going on a date!  It seems like its been weeks since we have gone out.  Usually we have a regular Sunday babysitter but since she decided to get a life....I mean now has other commitments, we only have her every two weekends out of the month.  THEN she decided to get PREGNANT.   The nerve!  LOL!  So we missed out last weekend because she was deep in the throws of morning...should be all day....sickness.  So as I type I am waiting on my 19 year old step-daughter Brittni to come take over my house of chaos. 

So what are we going to do on this date, you ask?  Weeeeeellll, we are planning on going to see Steve Carrel's new movie Dan in Real Life.  Enjoy the trailer below.....*I*, on the other hand, will be enjoying the actual movie....popcorn, soda, Junior Mints, and all!
